From Tuesday 16 to Friday 19 June 2026, Luxembourg para-athletes Ashish Ramsurrup (T46) and Massimo Saputo (T47) competed at the 20th Tunis International Athletics Meeting in Tunis, Tunisia.
According to the Luxembourg Paralympic Committee (LPC), the competition formed part of the World Para Athletics Grand Prix circuit and brought together athletes from numerous countries. The Luxembourg delegation consisted of the two athletes, accompanied by coach Sid Chougrani. Both competed in classifications for athletes with upper limb impairments, with Ashish Ramsurrup entered in T46 and Massimo Saputo in T47.
Massimo Saputo took part in the 100m and 400m events, finishing ninth in both disciplines. He recorded times of 13.17 seconds in the 100m and 1:02.85 in the 400m.
Ashish Ramsurrup competed in the 400m and 1,500m events. He finished sixth in both races, posting times of 1:02.37 in the 400m and 5:16.77 in the 1,500m. The competition came less than a month after his first appearance on the World Para Athletics Grand Prix circuit in Nottwil, Switzerland. The LPC noted that the performances in Tunis confirmed his positive progress in the longer-distance event.
The organisation added that, despite facing strong international competition, both Luxembourg athletes return from Tunis with encouraging results and valuable experience for the remainder of their season.
