The College of Mayor and Aldermen of the Municipality of Kayl has announced that afternoon classes for all pupils in fundamental education (Cycles 1-4) will be suspended on Monday 22 June, Wednesday 24 June and Friday 26 June 2026 due to the high temperatures forecast across Luxembourg.
According to the municipality, morning classes will take place as normal on all three days.
The municipality added that supervision of pupils will continue to be provided by teachers during the usual school hours. In addition, the Education and Care Service (Service d'Éducation et d'Accueil - SEA) will operate according to its normal schedule.
Parents and legal guardians whose children will not attend the SEA on those days are asked to notify the service accordingly.
The measure was approved by Mayor Jean Weiler and Aldermen Marco Lux and Brian Halsdorf.
