From Thursday 21 to Saturday 23 May 2026, Luxembourg para-athletes Katrin Kohl (T54) and Ashish Ramsurrup (T46) competed at the “ParAthletics 2026” meeting at the Swiss Paraplegic Centre in Nottwil, Switzerland, as part of the World Para Athletics Grand Prix series.
According to the Luxembourg Paralympic Committee (LPC), more than 450 athletes from 58 countries took part in the international competition, which represented the fourth stop of the 2026 World Para Athletics Grand Prix circuit.
The LPC delegation included athletes Katrin Kohl and Ashish Ramsurrup, accompanied by coaches Claude Issorat and Sid Chougrani. The competition also marked Ashish Ramsurrup’s first official Grand Prix appearance, during which he was classified in the T46 category for athletes with upper limb impairments.
He finished seventh in the 400m with a time of 63.72 seconds and recorded 5:24.80 minutes in the 1,500m event as the only athlete competing in his category.
“I have learned a lot in this week, the level is extremely high. I myself am not yet where I wanted to be this season, but already next weekend I can attack again at a para-athletics meeting,” said Ashish Ramsurrup after his races.
Katrin Kohl competed in the 100m, 200m, 400m and 800m events following her previous competition weekend in Arbon, Switzerland.
Particular attention was on the 100m event, where Kohl aimed to break the eighteen-second mark for the first time. She finished in 19.14 seconds, missing her personal best by one hundredth of a second.
In the 200m event, Katrin Kohl improved her personal best to 34.46 seconds and finished ninth against strong international opposition. She also recorded times of 66.29 seconds in the 400m and 2:17.08 in the 800m event.
According to LPC, Katrin Kohl was particularly satisfied with her progress in the longer-distance events, although she was disappointed to narrowly miss her target time in the 100m race.
