On Monday 31 August 2026, St George’s International School in Luxembourg announced its 2026 examination results, with its largest graduating class to date preparing to continue their studies at universities across Europe and the UK.

Almost half (44%) of St George’s Year 13 A-level and BTEC grades were awarded at A* or A / Distinction* or Distinction, while 84% of grades were between A* and C / Distinction* and Pass.

The graduating cohort of 51 students was the largest in St George’s 35-year history. The results have paved the way for students to continue their studies in fields including aerospace engineering, neuroscience, medicine, international business, psychology, history and politics at universities across Europe and the UK, including the University of Manchester, the London School of Economics and Political Science, King’s College London, Bocconi University, Delft University of Technology and Trinity College Dublin.

St George’s follows the framework of the National Curriculum of England, tailored to the needs of the international community in Luxembourg. Students in Years 12 and 13 work towards A-level qualifications, while students in Years 10 and 11 complete IGCSE (International General Certificate of Secondary Education) qualifications.

St George’s also offers BTEC (Business Technology Education Council) courses for students from Years 10 to 13. The Class of 2026 was the first to graduate from St George’s with BTEC Level 3 qualifications in Sport and Business Studies.

St George’s Secondary Headteacher Claire Simmonds said the exam results were a testament to the hard work, resilience and curiosity of the students and the dedication of staff. She said: “What I’m proudest of is not simply the strength of the grades, but the breadth of destinations our students have gone on to secure, from Manchester to Milan, Paris to Dublin. It reflects a curriculum and a community genuinely built around the individual student and their place in the global world.”

St George’s Principal Zeba Clarke said: “We are immensely proud of our students and all that they have achieved. These excellent results reflect their dedication, grit and determination. Just as importantly, they have contributed enormously to the life of our school – as mentors, role models and an inspiration to younger students following in their footsteps.”

She added: “These results are a wonderful achievement, but they are also a beginning, opening doors to exciting next steps at universities and institutions across Europe and beyond. My warmest congratulations go to every student and my sincere thanks to the teachers and staff whose expertise, encouragement and belief have supported them along the way. We send this remarkable group of young people on to their next adventures with enormous pride, confidence in all they have to offer and every good wish for the future.”

Examination results across the school

In Year 11, 53% of IGCSE and BTEC grades were 9 or 8 / Distinction* or Distinction, while 97% were between grades 9 and 4 / Distinction* and Pass.

In Year 12, 70% of AS-level grades were A or B, while 85% were between A and C.

In Year 13, 44% of A-level and BTEC grades were A* or A / Distinction* or Distinction, while 84% were between A* and C / Distinction* and Pass.
