BGL BNP Paribas and the FLF signed the contract on Tuesday 2 June 2026 at the BGL BNP Paribas headquarters in Luxembourg-Kirchberg. Nicolas Otton, Chair of the BGL BNP Paribas Executive Committee and Head of the BNP Paribas Group in Luxembourg, Markus Stegmann, Head of Retail Banking Luxembourg, and Cyrielle Piezanowski, Head of Marketing and Communications at BGL BNP Paribas, attended the signing alongside Paul Philipp, President of the FLF, and Nicolas Schockmel and Erny Decker, members of the FLF Board of Directors.
Through this partnership, the bank aims to support football at all levels, from grassroots and amateur clubs to the national elite. It added that the renewal reflects a shared commitment to encouraging a sustainable approach to football in Luxembourg by promoting responsible practices, ensuring the sport remains accessible to all and passing on educational and social values to younger generations.
On this occasion, Nicolas Otton said: “Football plays a central role in Luxembourg’s sporting landscape. Through this partnership, we reaffirm our commitment to supporting a sport that embodies strong values that resonate with our own: team spirit, perseverance and self-improvement. Together, we are working to make sport more inclusive, responsible and meaningful for future generations.”
Meanwhile, Paul Phillipp added: “We are delighted to extend our partnership with BGL BNP Paribas, a trusted partner that has supported the development of football in Luxembourg for many years. This renewed support sends a strong signal to our entire sporting movement. It enables us to continue our work towards promoting accessible and ambitious football that is rooted in strong values and serves the clubs, the players, the younger generations and the entire football community in Luxembourg.”
The 2026-2027 season of the “BGL Ligue” will kick off on August 2026.
