On Monday 26 March 2018, His Royal Highness the Grand Duke visited the Royal Military Academy in Brussels as part of an official visit.

Grand Duke Henri was accompanied by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, Étienne Schneider, the Deputy Director of Defense, Jacques Flies, and the Chief of Staff of the Luxembourg Army, General Alain Duschène.

After the reception by the commander and rector of the Royal Military Academy, Major-General Lutgardis Claes, HRH the Grand Duke was greeted by the Belgian delegation, in particular by the chief of defense, General Marc Compernol, and the Director General of Defense Human Resources, Lieutenant-General Jan Hennes.
Following a briefing on the Royal Military Academy (ERM) at the General Gallery, HRH the Grand Duke and delegation members went to the Laboratory of the Weapon and Ballistic Systems Department, where they were able to attend a "Mauser" shooting demonstration.

Grand Duke Henri then visited a student officer's room and the sports facilities of the ERM.

At the end of the visit, the Grand Duke met the ten Luxembourgish cadets currently attending the ERM. During a lunch, the students were able to exchange with the Grand Duke about their training and their experiences at the ERM.
