The Luxembourg-based East-West United Bank (EWUB) has announced the expansion of its range of services; Investment Advisory services are now available for EWUB private banking clients.
Investment Advisory services are gaining popularity worldwide. EWUB describes this as a product for clients who prefer to make their own investment decisions but still appreciate the value of professional recommendations, opinions and investment ideas.
The Investment Advisory service at EWUB is backed by the expertise of an asset manager, Sébastien Cordoliani, who will apply a thematic investment approach when managing portfolios and providing recommendations. “Thematic investing is a top-down investment approach with a focus on broad economic themes that we use to identify specific investments. The example of the themes we believe in are, among others, aging population, emerging middle class, fighting obesity, urbanisation", commented Mr Cordoliani. "By analysing long-term trends, we put the emphasis on future perspectives and not on past observations. This is a good way to overcome short-term volatility. It also generates a broad diversification in portfolios as a single theme is often includes investments in different industries”.
EWUB clients who subscribe for the Investment Advisory service will regularly receive a personalised list of recommended investments in different asset classes to form a portfolio best suited to their needs, risk appetite and cash flow requirements. All recommendations are made considering medium- to long-term perspective.
Commenting on the launch of this new service, Andrey Zaytsev, Head of EWUB Private Banking, said that Investment Advisory was very much in demand by the bank's clients. He explained: “We specialise in working with Russian-speaking clients, who are mostly conservative in the choice of investment instruments. However, [the] current situation with the global decline in deposit rates in all currencies is pushing clients towards financial markets. Many of our clients choose Discretionary Portfolio Management where the bank manages client’s portfolio on client’s behalf as part of the chosen investment strategy. For those who would like to make decisions on their own, we now offer [an] Investment Advisory service. We are ready to educate, counsel and empower investors, especially those interested in building their wealth over the long term”.
There is no minimum requirement in terms of the size of portfolio that a client will create based on the Investment Advisory recommendation; clients can start investing from any amount.
