Details: This week at Kulturfabrik in the context of the ILL residency, the Final Performance of “The Institute of Failure” will take place on Saturday 27 July at 20:00.
As part of the residency project "The Institute of Failure" instigated by Luxembourgish actress and theatre maker Claire Thill, Independent Little Lies is putting on an evening of showings featuring a performative talk by Karen Christopher and a performance with Soren Evinson and Claire Thill: "a repeating pattern of swirling vortices", a performative talk entertaining the idea of failure by Karen Christopher (Haranczak/Navarre Performance Projects).
Karen Christopher is a collaborative performance deviser, performer and teacher. Her new company, Haranczak/Navarre Performance Projects, is currently engaged in creating a series of duet performances. She was a member of Chicago-based Goat Island performance group for 20 years until the group disbanded in 2009. She now lives in London, continuing to define her practice in a collaborative and plural mode.
"The Day I Swiped the Code and Didn't Hear the Beep" is the result of four weeks of research based on creative responses to surrounding inspirations, observations, discussions and outrageous gossiping from the area by a team of international artists (Irene Wernli, Soren Evinson, Karen Christopher, Claire Thill). Soren Evinson and Claire Thill are two London-based collaborative theatre makers. They are two thirds of the collective a yeaR oF freE homeS.
