The Grand Ducal Police have reported that a traffic accident linked to drunk driving and an incident involving intoxicated individuals requiring preventive custody were reported during the night between Saturday 9 and Sunday 10 May 2026.
During the night of Saturday, police received reports that several individuals had physically assaulted security staff at a nightclub on Rue de Bouillon in Luxembourg-Hollerich. Several patrols attended the scene and encountered four individuals who behaved aggressively towards officers.
Police stated that the individuals posed a danger to themselves and others due to their level of intoxication. Following medical examinations, authorities placed all four in preventive custody.
Another incident occurred on Sunday morning shortly after 07:00, the police received a report of a crashed vehicle in Luxembourg-Verlorenkost. According to the police, the driver stated that she lost control after taking evasive action due to an oncoming car travelling in the wrong lane. She drove over a traffic island and collided with a railing.
During police checks, officers found that the driver had been under the influence of alcohol. As a result, they issued her with a driving ban. Police have launched further investigations into the circumstances of the accident.
