The University of Luxembourg announced on Monday its decision to switch to teleworking and remote teaching for one month in light of rising COVID-19 cases.

The prevalence of coronavirus in the general population is increasingly reflected in the university community, which recorded 21 new infections over the weekend. As of 26 October 2020, the University of Luxembourg counted a total of 46 active infections.

To ensure the safety and security of members of the university community, the University of Luxembourg decided to switch all study programmes to remote teaching for one month effective today, Tuesday 27 October 2020. Lab work, pratical work and mid-term examinations can nevertheless take place in the format that was originally planned.

In addition, the university recommended that all staff members whose work allows it telework for one month in order to minimise the number of employees on site and further reduce the risk of infections.
