Luxembourg's Ministry of Research and Higher Education, together with the Association of Luxembourg Student Circles (ACEL), recently organised the 38th edition of the Student Fair at the University of Luxembourg campus in Esch-Belval.
6,000 visitors are reported to have attended the event, which focused on informing final year students and their parents about national and international higher education options.
Some 120 exhibitors, including more than 60 national and international higher education institutions, around 40 student bodies and associations, together with representatives of various embassies, presented study opportunities available in fourteen countries.
Representatives of the ministry provided useful information on studies and state financial aid. A series of conferences on professions in the fields of education, health and information and communication technologies (ICT) also took place. In addition, various interactive webinars were offered to students.
According to Luxembourg's Minister of Research and Higher Education, Stéphanie Obertin, who visited the fair, "the Student Fair remains a central element in the information and orientation process for future students in Luxembourg. As part of this event, students have the opportunity to interact directly and personally with representatives of many higher education institutions as well as with student representatives, and this on the campus of our university".
As in previous years, the face-to-face fair was supplemented by a digital component, the Student Fair Platform, which will remain open until Friday 3 January 2025. Students and interested parties will have the opportunity to find out more about higher education and student life as well as the world of work and career prospects and to interact with both the exhibitors who were present at the student fair and also with some 90 additional "virtual" exhibitors.
