Following the delays experienced last year concerning the processing of applications for 3rd level student loans and grants, the delays in processing time at CEDIES have been significants reduced.
Regarding complete applications submitted before 1 November 2015, the average processing time was 5 calendar days.
Less than eight weeks after the deadline of 30 November 2015 set for applications for student financial assistance for the 2015/2016 winter semester, CEDIES managed to deal with all the dossiers filed. Compared to the winter semester of the 2014/2015 academic year, the processing time was shortened by more than two months.
Of the 27,000 applications for the 2015/2016 winter semester, around 8,300 applications were submitted during the last two weeks of November.
More than 22,000 requests for financial aid were granted with another circa 3,400 dossiers remaining to be finalised following incomplete requests.
Since the beginning of the 2015/2016 academic year, students can now submit applications for financial assistance for higher education online via Guichet.lu. This helps firstly to increase the quality of applications and secondly to reduce the time needed to send the file to CEDIES. So far, about 3,400 students have taken advantage of this new tool.
