The City of Luxembourg has confirmed details of the 196th Éimaischen (Easter Market) that will take place on Monday 21 April 2025 around the old fish market area in Luxembourg city, behind the Grand Ducal palace.
As every year, the Easter festivities herald the arrival of the "Éimaischen" craft market, one of the most emblematic events linked to Luxembourgish tradition, which has existed since at least 1827 and whose main theme is pottery and ceramics. Among the items on display are the famous "Péckvillercher," small terracotta whistles in the shape of birds, sold exclusively during Éimaischen. Their appearance varies from year to year, making them coveted collectibles, and collectors flock to them as early as dawn.
The craft market, organised by the Events, Festivals and Markets Department of the City of Luxembourg in partnership with the Alstad Committee, is being held on Easter Monday, 21 April 2025, from 08:00 to 17:00 in the historic streets of the old town, including the Fish Market, Rue du Marché-aux-Herbes, Rue de l'Eau, Rue de la Reine, Rue de la Boucherie, Rue du Rost and Rue Sigefroi.
Entertainment Programme
The day will be enlivened by various folk groups offering singing, dancing and musical entertainment at the Fish Market, on the forecourt of the National Museum of History and Art, from 10:00 to 17:15:
• 10:00 - 11:00: Lëtzebuerger Folklor La Ronde – Uucht-La Veillée

In addition to the various stands and the musical programme, the City of Luxembourg will also offer a Free face painting for children from 10:00 to 17:00 at the intersection of Rue du Rost and Rue de la Boucherie.
