Luxair has issued a statement regarding an air traffic control (ATC) strike in Spain.
On Friday 17 April 2026, ATC staff working at privately operated ATC towers in Spain initiated an indefinite strike, affecting selected control towers in north-western, central and southern Spain, as well as in the Canary Islands.
Although a minimum level of service will be maintained and only a limited operational impact is currently expected, Luxair said it is closely monitoring the situation and is taking steps to "minimise disruption and ensure the smoothest service possible".
Luxair added that it will communicate any changes directly to affected Luxair and LuxairTours customers through the contact details provided in their booking. The airline "strongly advised" passengers travelling to and from Spain to allow additional time for their journey, as longer waiting times may occur during peak periods.
Luxair apologised for any inconvenience and thanked passengers for their understanding.
