The Ville de Luxembourg has confirmed that this year’s “Mäertchen” (Octave market) will take place on Place Guillaume II from Saturday 25 April to Sunday 10 May.

The market, held as part of the Octave celebrations, will feature around 50 food stands arranged around a central covered terrace of more than 1,000 m2, along with game stalls and fairground attractions.

The Octave market will open daily from 11:00 to 22:00, while operators may remain open until 23:00.

The VdL noted that the site is accessible via the Hamilius tram stop, as well as bus stops at Hamilius, Roosevelt and Monterey. Cyclists can use the vel’OH! stations “Gëlle Fra” and “Knuedler”, while nearby car parks include Monterey, Royal-Hamilius, Knuedler and Saint-Esprit.

Regarding accessibility for people with reduced mobility, the VdL stated that, as in previous years, it will arrange a prior accessibility check of the “Mäertchen”, carried out by the association Info-Handicap. This process aims to improve information for visitors and to obtain the EureWelcome label for temporary cultural and tourist sites, awarded by Luxembourg's Ministry of the Economy.

It added that Rue Notre-Dame, near the cathedral, will provide a drop-off point to allow easier access to both the cathedral and the market, while additional designated parking spaces for people with reduced mobility will be available on Rue Notre-Dame opposite the cathedral.

Dues to Octave market, the “Stater Maart”, which usually takes place every Wednesday and Saturday, will move to Place de la Constitution on the following dates: 15, 18, 22, 25 and 29 April, as well as 2, 6 and 13 May 2026, from 07:30 to 14:00.

A mobile panoramic platform, “Look 360 Panorama”, will also be installed on Place de la Constitution from Friday 24 April to Sunday 14 June 2026. Rising to a height of 71 metres, it will allow visitors to “enjoy exceptional views over the capital”.
