The Place du Théâtre in Luxembourg-Ville will once again be transformed into an urban beach this summer.
On Thursday 8 July 2021, the College of the Mayor and Aldermen of the City of Luxembourg inaugurated the "Theaterplage" (theatre beach) at the heart of the capital as part of this year's "D'Stad lieft" (the city is alive) summer activity programme.
Throughout the summer and until mid-September, the Place du Théâtre will be characterised by a summer setting and a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Theaterplage features a 350 m2 sandpit, deckchairs and multicoloured parasols (in the "multiplicity” colours), a pétanque court, various plants and colourful decorations with flags and garland lights. In addition, catering chalets will provide on-site refreshments.
This "Theaterplage" project is a continuation of the initiatives aimed at revitalising the Place du Théâtre and promotinge this space located just a few steps from the pedestrian area of the city centre.
The measures in place to combat the spread of COVID-19 must be observed at all times.
The Theaterplage will be open to the public from 8 July to 12 September 2021, every day of the week from 10:00 to 22:00.
Free entry.
