On Wednesday 10 August 2016, Luxembourg's Secretary of State for Defence, Francine closener, conducted the swearing in of two career officers and a commissioned officer.
The two career officers attended officer candidate training courses for a military career at the Royal Military Academy in Brussels (149th Promotion all weapons) from August 2009 to July 2014 and an "information and communication systems"(CIS) officer training course from October to December 2014 in the Royal School of NCOs in Saint-Trond and from October 2015 to March 2016 in Peutie in Belgium.
They hold, respectively, a master's degree in social and military sciences and a degree in engineering.
The commissioned officer is the holder of a "Diplom-Informatiker". Assigned to the "information and communication systems of the army" Office, he was appointed Deputy Commissioned Officer in the officer corps of the army, with the authorisation to use the title of captain of the army.
