On Thursday 27 August 2026, the Schueberfouer once again celebrated “Kinniginnendag” (Queens' Day), with around 70 queens and other representatives gathering at the Glacis in Luxembourg-Limpertsberg.

Organised by the National Federation of Fairground Traders (FNCF) and the City of Luxembourg (VdL), the traditional event brought together queens, princesses and princes for a tour of the Schueberfouer.

This year more than 100 queens and festival representatives from across the Grand Duchy took part this year. Dressed in ceremonial outfits, participants visited several rides and attractions, with Luxembourg City Alderman Patrick Goldschmidt also attending the event.

The tradition of Queens' Day was introduced in 2003 and has since become a regular feature of the Schueberfouer programme, bringing together representatives of various traditional events linked to Luxembourg's cultural heritage.

Beyond the colourful spectacle for visitors, the annual gathering also provided an opportunity for the different representatives to meet and maintain connections between regional traditions.

Speaking with Chronicle.lu, Pauline de Nerée, Bratzl-Kinnegin from Bratzlar Village, highlighted: “For me, the Queen's Day in Luxembourg is very important to just get together, to connect and just have a wonderful time.”
