On Friday 28 August 2026, the Grand Ducal Police reported that it carried out a large-scale control operation at Luxembourg central station and in the surrounding Luxembourg-Gare district, focusing on drug and immigration legislation, as well as maintaining a general police presence.
The operation took place on Wednesday 26 August 2026, during the afternoon and evening in cooperation with the Customs Administration and Luxembourg's national railway company, the CFL.
According to the police, a total of 40 people were checked during the operation, with several offences identified.
Police issued two fines and drew up five reports for violations of drug legislation. A small quantity of drugs, three mobile phones and cash were seized.
One person was reported for the unauthorised possession of a weapon after being found carrying pepper spray, which was subsequently confiscated. Another person was reported on suspicion of handling stolen goods.
Police added that one of the individuals checked had been flagged in their system, while four people underwent identification procedures.
A total of thirteen police officers, ten Customs Administration officers, including three dog handlers, and seven CFL employees took part in the operation.
