Two of Luxembourg swimming Olympians were in action on Tuesday in the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio in Brazil.
In the Acquatic Centre on Tuesday, Luxembourg's Laurent Carnol was competing in the Men's 200m Breaststroke. Swimming in Heat 2 (out of 5), he finished 3rd in a time of 2:11:94. He did not qualify for the semi-finals, which involved the 16 fastest times from the heats. The semi-finals are on Wednesday and the final is on Thursday. The World Record for this event is 2:07:01 set by Japan's Akihiro YAMAGUCHI in 2012.
The Luxembourgish swimmer Raphael Stacchiotti competed in the Men’s 100 m Freestyle yesterday also. He did not qualify for the semi-finals, finishing 6th in heat 3 out of 8 heats. The final will be taking place on Thursday.
