On Thursday evening Renault Luxembourg held a VIP event at its showrooms in Gasperich to launch the Renault Talisman Grandtour, the new high-end saloon from the French automobile brand.

The garage opened the recently-renovated extension which cost €4.5m over 18 months and which also showcased the new Renault Mégane and the new Renault Espace models.

The Director of Renault Luxembourg, Frédéric Maillard, welcomed everyone and talked about the investment in revamping the (physical) site before unveiling the new Talisman estate which he described as a large and spacious saloon that is silent, comfortable and efficient, which is powered by the same engine as the Renault Espace.

He also revealed that two new models introduced in 2015, the new Renault Espace and the Renault Kadjar, both experienced very good sales in 2015.

On the topic of Renault's electric vehicles, he stated that, largely due to the end of government incentives, interest did see a slow-down, however demand is still there, especially from Companies and Local Government. He called for new support measures to boost this market and increase sales of zero-emission vehicles.

The guests enjoyed a walking dinner provided courtesy of Kaempff-Kohler. The VIP event welcomed 500 guests who consumed circa 500 litres of beverages, 900 portions of risotto and 750 wok portions, as well as 4,550 appetisers and 1,200 petits-fours, not to mention the cured ham too.
