The natur&ëmwelt English Section has announced that they are organising a Fit by Nature event on Saturday 6 February 2016 from 09:30 - 14:00 at the Garlécksbierg nature reserve where they help to restore the low-nutrient grassland habitat.
Garlécksbierg is the English-speaking Section’s very own conservation site which they are clearing, bit by bit, of unwanted invasive vegetation to improve its conservation value for a whole host of species, in particular for the Grey Partridge (Perdix perdix), a bird that used to be common throughout Europe, but which is now red-listed as an endangered species – mainly because of habitat neglect, deterioration and disappearance.
This is a perfect opportunity to meet new great people, get to know a bit more about the Luxembourgish countryside and spent a great day outside.
The Meeting Point will be at the Wecker train station at 09:30. From there all volunteers will all drive together to the site.
