In cooperation with the natur&ëmwelt Remich Section, Bee Together is organising an event about pollinators, particularly wild bees, on 15 or 16 August in Wintrange.

Fernand FEITZ, volunteer of the Section, will be the guide on a walk where participants will use a net to capture and identify some of the pollinators in Luxembourg.

At the Bee Together excursion in Remerschen on 12 April, a multitude of mining bees (Andrena vaga) were providing for their offspring, while the cuckoo bees (Nomada) were on the watch to lay their eggs. Now that those sandy spots have become quiet with the larvae developing in their cells in the nest burrows, Bee Together is curious to see what bees are around in August. The event's host will explain their lifecycle, and what actions we can take to improve their sources of food and habitat.

The meeting place and parking are at the ponds near the village of Wintrange.

As the event is dependent on having dry weather, two dates are proposed. Depending on the weather forecast and the number of registrations, participants will be informed of the date chosen.

Registration: on or before 17:00 on Thursday, 13 August, please send an email to beetogetherlux@gmail.com to indicate your availability for 14:00 on Saturday, 15 August and/or 10:00 on Sunday, 16 August.

The cost of the event is based on the principle of Pay What You Wish. You decide how much you would like to donate. Please bring cash that you can put in the Bee Together donation box. The money collected from the event will be shared by the natur&ëmwelt Remich Section and Bee Together. For Bee Together, the money will be used for its projects, such as building a wild bee hotel.
