On Wednesday 24 June 2026, the Grand Ducal Police reported that a suspect was arrested in Diekirch following a number of thefts from vehicles overnight.
According to the police, shortly after 00:30 on Wednesday 24 June the police were informed of a theft from a vehicle on Avenue de la Gare in Diekirch.
According to initial information, the suspect gained access to the interior by smashing a window, searched the vehicle and stole a rucksack. The suspect was located shortly afterwards by a police patrol.
During further investigations, he was also linked to another theft from a vehicle committed shortly beforehand.
On the instruction of the Public Prosecutor’s Office, the suspect was arrested and brought before an investigating judge on Wednesday morning.
