The Grand Ducal Police have reported two driving licences were revoked on Tuesday 9 June 2026, following drink-driving offences in Esch-sur-Alzette and Bettendorf.
According to the police, in the early evening of Tuesday 9 June police were alerted to a heavily intoxicated driver at a petrol station on Rue d’Audun in Esch-sur-Alzette. A police patrol located the driver shortly afterwards. The driver, who was in the process of changing a tyre, showed clear signs of alcohol consumption. A breathalyser test returned a positive result and a driving ban was issued.
Shortly afterwards, another intoxicated car driver was reported on Route de Diekirch in Bettendorf. A police patrol attended the scene and was able to locate the individual. The breathalyser test was also positive in this case and the driver’s licence was confiscated.
