The British & Irish Film Festival Luxembourg will be holding its 2026 Autumn Edition in September, with most (if not all - to be confirmed) screenings at Ciné Utopia in Luxembourg-Limpertsberg and at the Cité Auditorium (off Place d'Armes; used while the Cinémathèque on Place du Theatre is being renovated).

Festival Events Asbl, organisers of the festival, are looking for volunteers to help at the screenings, as in previous years.

They will be holding one or two screenings every day over nine days. They may also have other screenings / events before and after these dates (to be confirmed).

The full programme of films and schedule of screenings and other events, as well as a number of exciting special guests (actors, directors and producers), is to be unveiled in early September. Around this time they will send our the Volunteer Schedule.

Call for Volunteers

To help with the organisation, Festival Events Asbl is looking for Volunteers to help at the festival, including with guest ticketing, Q&As, receptions, and also with roll-up banners, etc. (a rota will be set up, depending on availabilities, to be sent out in early March):

- Sat 19 Sep @ 19:00 @ Ciné Utopia (Opening Screening)
- Sun 20 Sep @ 16:30 & 19:00 @ Ciné Utopia
- Mon 21 Sep @ 18:30 & 20:30 @ Cité Auditorium
- Tue 22 Sep @ 18:45 & 21:00 @ Ciné Utopia
- Wed 23 Sep @ 18:30 & 20:30 @ Cité Auditorium
- Thu 24 Sep @ 18:30 & 20:30 @ Cité Auditorium
- Fri 25 Sep @ 18:30 & 20:30 @ Cité Auditorium
- Sat 26 Sep @ 18:30 & 20:30 @ Cité Auditorium
- Sun 27 Sep @ 18:00 @ Ciné Utopia (Closing Screening, Awards)

Volunteers will need to be there 60 minutes beforehand (90 minutes for the Opening & Closing screenings).

To offer your support, contact Joelle MEKIDECHE by email, mentioning the screenings at which you are volunteering to assist (if you have not volunteered before, and would need a new festival polo shirt, please confirm to Joelle your preferred size so they can order them).

As in previous editions, volunteers can sit in on the screenings but may miss the start / end due to volunteering commitments. Also, the organisers will be taking photographs, and sometimes videos, throughout the festival, and by volunteering you consent to your photos being published on the festival website, on social media and possibly to promote future festivals. The organisers would also ask volunteers to please help promote the festival by sharing on your social media channels, etc., when the programme is announced and during the festival.
