The Union Luxembourgeoise de Patinage de Vitesse (ULPV) has reported that Peter Murphy competed in the ISU World Short Track Speed Skating Championships in Rotterdam (Netherlands) two weekends ago.
Luxembourg's Peter Murphy skated in the Ahoy Arena in front of 10,000 spectators and secured a new statistical personal best (PB) of 42.657 in the 500m. He ranked 42nd overall. In 2018, Peter had skated the same distance in 42.656 in Calgary but the statistics were wrong, according to the ULPV.
In addition to his positive 500m result, Peter skated the 1000m in 1:29.945 (also 42nd) and the 1500m in 2:21.413 (33rd).
The French National League Trophée National 6 took place in Neuilly-sur-Marne this past weekend. The ULPV confirmed that the next competitions for its skaters are the 42nd Easter Tournament - Golden Sun Award in Ghent (Belgium) on Saturday 30 and Sunday 31 March 2024, the French Closing in Lyon (France) on Saturday 6 and Sunday 7 April 2024 and the Luxembourg Championships at Kockelscheuer ice rink on Sunday 21 April 2024.
