At a meeting held on Wednesday 20 January 2016, the steering committee of the National Cultural Fund (FOCUNA) implemented an altered procedure for submitting applications, amended the conditions of eligibility and the award criteria, and changed the evaluation of aid and support.

FOCUNA has implemented an online platform for filing grant applications, and announced that those submitted by post will no longer be considered. To help professional artists or cultural project leaders in their applications for a grant, the steering committee has prepared a presentation guide.

An application for aid may be made by a professional artist in their own name, with Luxembourg residence or nationality, or by a group of artists or related associatio, foundation or structure. Any legal person, regardless of status, is able to submit a request, as long as they concentrate their activities in Luxembourg and provided that the request is for a non-profit event.

Structures benefitting from an agreement with the Ministry of Culture or with local authorities are able to present a project so long as it does not fall within the subject of the agreement or constitute an extra expense. However, these structures are not a priority target for subsidies.

The evaluation method employed by the steering committee is axplained in the guide which can be found here. To find out about the selection process and application deadlines click here.
