
Cactus has announced that the new bread ‘tourte’, created by Cathy Goedert, is now available at certain Cactus shops across the Grand Duchy.
Cactus has explained in a statement that it is a strong advocate of the fundamentals of true quality and therefore supports artisan producers who compete against industrial production that is increasingly challenging trade. It was therefore a very conscious decision to work with Cathy Goedert, a young baker with an undeniable talent. The famous bread “Tourte” signed by Cathy Goedert can be purchased at Cactus La Belle Etoile, Cactus Howald and Cactus Bereldange.
Frank Obertin and the Oiko Backhaus team, Jean Kircher and the Pains & Tradition team and Cathy Goedert have worked hard to produce products of great quality: authentic and true artisan breads.
Cathy Goedert finds inspiration in tradition. For the young baker, tradition and quality are an inseparable mix. In collaboration with Max Nosbusch, a baker in the city of Vianden, they together revived an artisanal quality rye sourdough bread and named it “Tourte”. This bread was created using traditional craftmanship in the heart of Luxembourg city.
Cathy Goedert has been passionate about pastry art since a young age. She went the prestigious Bellouet school in Paris to study the art of pastry. She has further worked in Namur, Dubai, Paris and Freiburg, alongside the renowned Thierry Marx, before opening her own pastry shop in Luxembourg city centre.
