On Monday 14 July 2025, the City of Luxembourg published details of its “Sports for All” summer holiday and Kinnekswiss activity programme, part of its year-round commitment to promoting leisure, fitness and well-being for young people, adults and seniors.
This year, the programme will offer more than 200 sports-leisure, sports-fitness and sports-health classes, running from Wednesday 16 July to Tuesday 30 September 2025. The activities take place from Monday to Sunday, indoors, in the swimming pool or outdoors and are spread over more than 30 sites throughout the city.
Leisure Sports Courses for Youth, Adults and Seniors
Although the number of classes per age group will be reduced during the summer period, the “Sports for All” programme continues to offer a wide range of opportunities for individuals to stay active, discover new disciplines and enjoy recreational activities.
The programme for young people aged twelve to sixteen features both team sports, such as beach volleyball and football, and individual activities like strength training, fitness and running. Adult participants can choose from fitness, gymnastics, weight training and outdoor options including jogging, beach volleyball, qi gong and taijiquan.
Meanwhile, the summer schedule for seniors emphasises gentle gymnastics, age-appropriate sports, muscle strengthening, walking and Nordic walking.
Kinnekswiss: Sport and Relaxation
In addition to indoor and outdoor sports classes, VdL will also host daily activities at the Kinnekswiss from Friday 11 July to Sunday 31 August 2025. Alongside regular taijiquan and qi gong sessions, the city is offering free access to equipment for more than thirty sports activities catering to all ages and interests. Qualified instructors will be on-site to assist participants, manage the distribution of equipment and ensure continuous engagement throughout the day from 11:30 to 19:30, weather permitting.
Jump for Fun
From Saturday 12 July to Sunday 14 September 2025, a twelve-trampoline park will be set up in Merl Park in Luxembourg City. Children and adults alike can enjoy this free activity daily from 12:00 to 20:00, weather permitting.
