On Tuesday morning, a cooperation agreement was signed between the French Customs authorities and the Customs and Excise Administration which will see Luxembourg and French customs conduct unilateral and joint controls in the future.
The regional director of Customers and Excise of Lorraine, Christian Leblanc, and the director of the Luxembourg Customs and Excise, Alain Bellot, signed the agreement at the border post at the Dudelange-Zoufftgen Motorway (DZA) in the presence of numerous actors.
After the development of this new control area on Zoufftgen and the demolition of the former compound, new containers, equipped with computer hardware and facilities for officials, were installed.
French and Luxembourg customs will join forces in carrying out identity checks on all kinds of vehicles and good. The scanner truck of Luxembourg customs will operate in the future on a special section of this same area.
