AWC – Art Work Circle, the first online platform in Luxembourg dedicated to artists and art lovers, has announced its forthcoming exhibition featuring local artist Armand Strainchamps.

The vernissage for this exhibition will take place on Saturday 18 July 2020 from 18:30 in the AWC pop-up gallery in the centre of Luxembourg City and from 19:00 for the virtual vernissage, which will be transmitted via a live stream.

In the context of the recent sanitary restrictions and as an online platform, AWC has decided to take an innovative approach by proposing an alternative to a classical exhibition. For this reason, there will be two options for taking part in the vernissage for Armand Strainchamp’s upcoming exhibition, either by actually attending the event at the AWC pop-up gallery or through a live stream. It will also be possible to watch the video recording of the event and to take part in a 3D virtual tour of the exhibition via the AWC website.

Aimy Kinsinger of AWC commented: “This is the right moment to rethink a traditional vernissage. Since the launch of Art Work Circle in 2015, we have noted a considerable increase in interest in online art. Recent events have merely served to enhance this trend: many traditional galleries had to close their exhibition rooms during the lockdown period. The transition to a more digital approach has become even more essential”.

During this unique event dedicated to Armand Strainchamps, the well-known jazz singer Edith van den Heuvel and her guitarist will provide a musical accompaniment for the evening. To round off the offer, AWC is cooperating with the food delivery service Foozo and Krier Frères wine producers to provide refreshments for the event itself as well as a home delivery service.

The exhibition will remain in place at the AWC pop-up gallery throughout the months of July, August and September, but will only be available for viewing by prior appointment. The virtual tour will remain accessible 24/7 throughout this period via the AWC website.

In order to respect the current sanitary restrictions, a maximum of 15 VIP places are available for the vernissage at the AWC pop-up gallery, which is situated at the MindForest Lounge (11 Rue Ste-Zithe), but a larger number of tickets are on sale for the virtual event.
