On Friday, Luxembourg's Minister of Foreign and European Affairs, Jean Asselborn, was in Liechtenstein to attend a meeting of his counterparts in other German-speaking countries.
Minister Asselborn has travelled to Liechtenstein at the invitation of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Aurelia Frick, and met with other Foreign Ministers from Germany (Frank-Walter Steinmeier), Austria (Sebastian Kurz) and Switzerland (Didier Burkhalter).
The meeting enabled the Foreign Affairs Ministers to discuss European issues, notably Brexit and European security. They also addressed the situation in Ukraine and the role of the OSCE in the context of the implementation of the Minsk agreements, as well as the situation in the Middle East and in Libya and Turkey, the latter concerning which Minister Asselborn restated the importance of European support for the Turkish people and the country's democratic institutions. They also addressed the issue of migration.
