Luxembourg Grand Ducal Police have issued a warning about people who have been falsely representing themselves as police officers carrying out investigations in order to gain access to homes from which they then steal property.
The fraudsters usually target elderly people. In all recent cases, they spoke only French to their victims and in one case pretended to be French policemen.
In this connection, the police point out that all Luxembourgish policemen speak Luxembourgish and are always able to identify themselves as police officers on the basis of a service card.
