wine taste enjoy 4 600

The Luxembourg Moselle is less than 20 km from the capital, Luxembourg city. The centre of viticulture, the region is alongsicde its French and German neighbours, maintaining a unique style and character.

The wines of the Luxembourg Moselle are a delight for all wine lovers: sparkling Crémants, elegant Rieslings, white and red wines from the Pinot family, exotic Gewürztraminer, ethereal Rivaner and Auxerrois, late harvests, ice and straw wines; a discovery without limits throughout the region and its terroir.

Have you ever wanted to discover the Luxembourg Moselle, its award-winning still and sparkling wines? An ideal opportunity presents itself in the form of the Wine, Taste, Enjoy 2017 event being held over the Pentecost weekend. Owners of vineyards, wine cellars and wine bars along the Luxembourg Moselle are organising an Open Week-end from 3 to 5 June. A total of 25 winemakers and 2 distilleries will participate in this wine tourism event.

A varied and interesting programme of activities will be offered to wine lovers, visitors and holidaymakers who do not yet know the vineyard region of the Grand Duchy, as well as to tourists passing through the region. Many activities such as tasting of wines and liqueurs, guided walks in the vineyards, and also rides in horse-drawn carriages attract young and old alike. These activities take place in a convivial atmosphere, facilitating exchanges with the winegrowers and the "Mosellans" (Moselle valley residents). Cultural events such as art and photography exhibitions and music concerts will complete the programme.

The cellars are open from 11:00 to 20:00 during the three days and offer culinary specialties also outside normal consumption times.

Two museums, namely the "A Possen" museum in Bech-Kleinmacher and the Wine Museum in Ehnen, are also among the participants in the largest wine-growing event in the region. From guided tours of a 19th century winegrower's house and a collection of toys from yesteryear, to oenological discoveries at the Wine Museum, the varied programme offers something for everyone.

The Mediterranean garden in Schwebsange, with its huge diversity of exotic plants, invites members of the public to taste organic wines. In the "Haff Reimech" nature reserve, a family-oriented treasure hunt is being organised; and the new Biodiversum nature and forest centre in Remerschen offers a "Biodiversum Inside" guided tour.

A circuit with the theme "From cellar to cellar" in the town of Remich and wine tours from Schwebsange are provided by regional guides.

Access to the Moselle region of Luxembourg, as well as transfers between the cellars, are serviced by well-developed public transport. In order to allow everyone to enjoy the party safely and throughout the region, a free shuttle service also takes members of the public to and from the various cellars.
