Following a technical incident on a Luxair flight to London-City on Wednesday morning, the flight took place without problems.
The Bombardier Q400 plane flying the Luxair flight LG 4605 from Luxembourg to London City lost a cowling panel of its left engine during take-off at 07:15. Luxair stressed that the safety of passengers, crew and aircraft was not at risk at any time. The flight and landing in London City occurred without further incident.
The return flight, LG 4606, was consequently cancelled and passengers were offered to board the following Luxair flight to Luxembourg.
The aircraft is now subjected to a detailed analysis by the agents of LuxairTechnics dispatched to London-City to assess the conditions and duration of repairs.
The immobilisation of the aircraft led to the cancellation of a Luxair flight to Barcelona later in the day and could cause further delays and irregularities during the day.
