On Sunday 15 June 2025, Luxembourg-based all-cargo airline Cargolux released a statement in which it denied claims that it was using Iranian airspace.

The airline referenced recent statements circulating on social media claiming that Cargolux flights were using Iranian airspace, based on the data received on a publicly available application. "Cargolux would like to categorically state that none of its flights utilise Iranian airspace," it clarified in the statement.

Cargolux suggested that other airlines may have also been impacted by the "incorrect data" displayed on such an app.

Cargolux assured that it "operates with state-of-the-art technology systems, similar to those used by all major airlines, ensuring that we know the exact position of our aircraft at all times. Our flight tracking systems provide real-time data, which confirms that no flight entered Iranian airspace."

"Any claims to the contrary are completely unfounded," the airline added in its statement, before concluding: "We remain committed to maintaining the highest standards of safety and transparency in all our operations."
