On Thursday 19 June 2025, Luxembourg-based all-cargo airline Cargolux confirmed that there was an accident involving one of Aquarius Aerial Firefighting's (AFF) aircraft on deployment in Turkey.

The aircraft, an Air Tractor AT-802F Fire Boss, registration number LX-AFE, was active on a firefighting mission when the accident occurred whilst scooping water.

Cargolux noted that both the AFF pilot and the Turkish observer on board were able to evacuate the aircraft unassisted. There were no fatalities. The occupants were rescued by a police boat and taken to hospital for observation and evaluation.

Cargolux concluded that AFF is committed to fully cooperating with all relevant authorities in respect of this accident.

Based in Luxembourg, Aquarius AFF is a wholly owned subsidiary of Cargolux dedicated to aerial firefighting.
