Luxembourg-based international professional women's association The NETWORK kicked off the new year with a networking event at KPMG in Luxembourg-Kirchberg on Monday 26 January 2026.
Pedro Castilho, founder of Verbalius, moderated the interactive session, setting the tone with a fun and clever icebreaker that opened the door to the theme of "Networking with Purpose". This was followed by a panel discussion featuring Bobbi Jean Breboneria, Partner at KPMG, and Patricia Martin, Vice-President of The NETWORK. Both shared thoughtful, practical insights on what networking truly means - beyond exchanging business cards - and how intentional connections can naturally evolve into mentorship and sponsorship in the workplace.
The conversations continued as attendees mingled, exchanged experiences and reflected on how purposeful networking can shape careers, communities and opportunities. The organisers summed it up as "a powerful and energising evening".
They noted the presence of several men in the audience, stating: "Our hope is that this becomes a growing habit - because building inclusive, supportive professional networks benefits everyone."
