On Monday 24 November 2025, Luxembourg-based international professional women's association The NETWORK held an event dedicated to “Mastering Your Unique Value Proposition” at Amazon in Luxembourg-Kirchberg.
The interactive session was designed exclusively for women looking to clearly articulate their Unique Value Proposition (UVP), whether to advance their careers, seek promotions or develop their businesses.
Following an introduction by The NETWORK President Monika Ruseva, guest speaker Gabriela Nguyen-Groza, founder and managing partner of Amrop Luxembourg, led the presentation, which she framed as “a dialogue rather than a monologue”.
Gabriela - who has extensive experience advising boards, CEOs and executive teams - explained that understanding and being able to “sell” one’s value, whether to employers, recruiters or clients, is essential in today’s competitive market. She stressed that everyone brings value either to their employer or to the market, but one must be able to demonstrate that value in order to succeed, for example in a job interview or when asking for a raise.
She noted that technical skills are rarely unique and often serve only as an “entry ticket” to an interview. What truly differentiates candidates and leaders is how they act, behave and respond to change, through skills such as: strategic thinking; the ability to adapt to uncertainty and change; crisis response; being curious and asking insightful questions to get the right answers (especially in interviews, which should be a two-way discussion); courage and constructive disagreement; active listening and teamwork (leaders should understand they are only as good as their teams); humility and emotional intelligence.
Gabriela encouraged participants to reflect on what they have learned throughout their careers and how those experiences translate into real value for the market.
To help attendees define their UVP, a practical exercise invited participants to draft their general UVP in three to four bullet points (usually seven to eight for general UVP, later narrowed to four or five tailored points for a specific role or goal). Gabriela highlighted the importance of tailoring one’s UVP to the needs of the organisation or client, as well as having concrete examples ready to support each point. “Don’t leave the room without talking about those points,” she said. “It is important you can show your value, not just answer questions”. She advised participants to research potential employers and to think of the company as a puzzle with a missing piece. “If the missing piece is round, tailor your UVP to be round,” she stated.
Answering attendees’ questions, Gabriela also addressed common challenges faced by women in the workplace, such as reluctance to negotiate a raise or undervaluing their skills, and encouraged participants to silence the inner voice of doubt and to take ownership of their career narrative.
The evening concluded with closing remarks from Monika Ruseva, who invited attendees to join The NETWORK’s upcoming Christmas Drinks event, followed by a group photo and a networking cocktail.
