Econocom Belux has announced that Chantal De Vrieze has been appointed President of Econocom Belgium and Luxembourg and will hand over her role as Managing Director to Christophe Vanmalleghem on Wednesday 1 April 2026.
According to Econocom, Chantal De Vrieze will focus on developing and strengthening key institutional relationships as well as strategic commercial partnerships. She will represent Econocom Belgium and Luxembourg with internal and external stakeholders and will continue to embody and promote the Group’s values and image. Her role will be essential in supporting Econocom’s long term positioning and influence.
Christophe Vanmalleghem (57) thereby will take over the position. He has more than 30 years of experience in management and sales in the ICT sector, both in Belgium and internationally, working for Econocom for fifteen years across two periods.
The current Managing Director Services and Distribution has worked closely with Chantal De Vrieze in recent years and contributed to sustaining the branch’s performance while preparing the next phase of its growth. In his new role, he will lead the implementation of the five year “One Econocom” strategy in the Belux market.
“In these difficult and uncertain times, we want to be closer than ever to our customers and business partners,” explained Christophe Vanmalleghem. “As an independent financial and technological partner, we have a wide range of solutions to help our clients overcome these challenges. Our group can also support customers in their strategic transition towards new technologies such as artificial intelligence and sustainable circular computing. I look forward to continuing the strong leadership of Chantal,” she added.
“This development results from a planned and well considered succession strategy. It reflects a deliberate and responsible choice, ensuring continuity, strengthening leadership maturity and preserving Econocom’s strong reputation in the Belux region. I can continue to commit to Econocom’s long term strategy, image and values, represent the company internally and externally, and at the same time support my succession, which is both an honour and a pleasure,” said Chantal De Vrieze.
