On Tuesday 29 December 2020, board members from The NETWORK, Luxembourg's oldest international professional business women's association, delivered 30 Christmas “Sparkle Bags” to the Fraenhaus to support women in need.

The donation is part of The NETWORK’s Christmas Sparkle appeal for the benefit of female victims of domestic violence. Similar to the traditional shoebox appeal, this festive appeal was launched to support one of the association’s chosen local charities: the Fraenhaus, a refuge for women victims of domestic violence, run by Femmes en Détresse asbl.

The women who take refuge in the Fraenhaus usually leave their homes in the middle of the night, with nothing but the clothes on their backs. Toiletries and basic hygiene products, items many take for granted, are the last thing on their mind. The Christmas sparkle appeal aimed to send some Christmas magic to these women.

Those attending today's event were Tania Bozuric, Director, and Jessenia Bone, both of Fraenhaus, as well as Marie Louise Ashworth, President, Danijela Hebat, Director of Events, LaTasha D. Baker, Director of Communications, and Carmen Madiar, Charities Liaison Officer, all of The NETWORK.

The public contributed to the Christmas Sparkle appeal by purchasing handmade toiletry bags for these women (each worth €20) and / or making a donation to add a little Christmas sparkle to the bags.

There is still time to support this worthy cause, with donations welcome until Thursday 31 December 2020. Donations via bank transfer should be made to the following account:
