Cactus supermarkets are to hold their 17th Wine Festival on wines from the New World and from around the world from Tuesday 8 until Sunday 20 March 2016.

With more than 300 wines to be discovered at the Belle Etoile shopping centre, the Cactus supermarkets at Bascharage, Howald, Ingeldorf, Esch-Lallange, Kayl, Bereldange, Merch, Remich, Pétange, Echternach, Redange and Windhof will also stock a range of those wines, with all having tasting sessions for cutomers.

With the main New World wine producers in 2015 bing the US, Argentina, Chile and South Africa, they stand out from European wines where each vintage is different; this is usually not the case for New World wines.

Apart from such New World wine offerings, wines from other regions are also included: Lebanon, New Zealand, Australia, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, Switzerland, France, Italy, Spain and Portugal.

Jean-Marc Hubertus, who presented the wine festival and a number of carefully-selected wines at a press presentation and tasting on Wednesday, has also selected no less than 28 "Coups de Coeur". A total of 20 wines will have a 20% discount during the Wine Festival, with members of the Club Vin sur Vin enjoying a 25% discount (email: clubvin@belle-etoile.lu).

The tastings at the Belle Etoile shopping centre will take place from 10:00 - 20:00 (Mon-Thu), 10:00 - 21:00 (Fri), 10:00 - 19:00 (Sat), with a special tasting on Sunday 20 March from 14:00 - 18:00.
