On Monday 31 August 2026, Luxair announced that it had postponed the launch of its planned services to Abu Dhabi until the end of 2027 and will not resume its seasonal Dubai service until 6 February 2027.
The Luxembourg airline said in a press release that the decisions were made in light of continued geopolitical tensions in the Middle East and their impact on the wider region. The two services were originally scheduled to operate from October 2026.
As Dubai is a destination already served by Luxair, the airline said the service is currently expected to resume on 6 February 2027 but is subject to the development in the region as well as the safety and security conditions required for its operation.
The planned launch of the Luxembourg–Abu Dhabi route will meanwhile be deferred to the end of 2027. As Abu Dhabi represents a new destination for Luxair, the planned launch is also subject to the development in the region and the safety and security conditions required for the operation of the service. Luxair said it will “wait for greater visibility regarding the regional situation before confirming a new launch date”.
Luxair detailed that as of Tuesday 1 September it will start contacting all customers affected by these changes and inform them of the full refund options available for their respective bookings.
The airline emphasised that it continues to closely monitor geopolitical developments in the region, the wider aviation operating environment and market and booking trends and will reassess both services later this year and adapt its plans as necessary.

The decision to postpone these services reflects the current circumstances and Luxair plans to resume services the UAE in 2027.
