On Wednesday 12 August 2026, the Luxembourg Veterinary and Food Administration (ALVA) announced the recall of eggs of the Econom and Everyday brands due to the presence of Salmonella.
The following products have been recalled from points of sale in Luxembourg: Econom brown barn eggs, size L, 30 units, and Everyday barn eggs, size M, 12 units.
The affected eggs bear the codes 2-BE-1073-01, 2-BE-1073-02, 2-BE-1073-03 and 2-BE-1073-04 and were sold between Thursday 16 July and Monday 10 August 2026.
The sale of the affected products in Luxembourg has been confirmed by Colruyt Group.
According to the authorities, the risk level has been classified as “orange”, indicating a moderate danger.
The food safety authorities noted that if the eggs undergo heat treatment, there is no longer a risk and they can be consumed.
