Luxembourg's Ministry of Education, Children and Youth has confirmed that 24 classes in Steinsel Primary School are in quarantine after ten individuals tested positive for COVID-19.

The decision to go into quarantine was taken following the detection of ten positve cases among cycles 1, 3 and 4, including eight staff members and two pupils.

The ministry assured that a detailed analysis of the situation is underway, although "it is still too early to comment on the source of the infections". What is known is that several of those staff members having tested positive had also been in contact with one another outside school. The current analysis is expected to give details of a possible transmission of the virus within the school.
