St George’s International School secondary students are again participating in ‘World Challenge’, the leading provider of life-changing school expeditions.
Over 27 years' of organising student trips abroad gives them the global reach, vision and resources to create bespoke educational programmes, tailored to each team’s objectives, accompanied by 24-hr operational support whilst teams are in-country.
This year, a team of secondary students from St George’s International School will be travelling to India, a fascinating country, home to one sixth of the world’s population. The landscape rises from sea level to over 8,000m in the Himalayas. Teams will arrive in Delhi before heading north through the Kullu Valley to the bustling town of Manali.
Nestled in a lush valley surrounded by waterfalls, hot springs, pine forests, apple orchards, rivers and temples, the team will acclimatise before embarking on their community project. The project phase will be an incredible opportunity for the team to witness Indian culture and to learn about day-to-day life in an area most travellers do not get to experience.
For the project, the team will travel to Koti to set off on the Brighu Lake Trek. The trek will take the team through a varied and beautiful landscape, starting in the forested mountains lining the rich valley and will pass through rhododendron forests and over streams, where the trail will take them higher up the valley until the terrain becomes tough with snow fields and some steep climbs.
Towards the end of the expedition, the team will embark on some R&R in Jaipur, home to a wealth of wonderful sights, as well as Agra, home to the world-famous Taj Mahal.
St George’s International School Luxembourg is located in Luxembourg-Hamm and caters to approximately 700 students, with 230 in the Secondary school. Trips such as these are a regular occurrence. Students and Teachers are looking forward to experiencing an extraordinary journey!
