Transition Minett and the Interreg ACTE project have announced the Ecofestival ACTE, which will take place across the Alzette Belval area from Sunday 13 to Friday 25 September 2026, featuring workshops, meetings and activities focused on environmental issues and citizen-led ecological initiatives.
Over nearly two weeks, associations, municipalities, citizen groups and local organisations will organise activities around sustainable food, the circular economy, biodiversity, soft mobility, reuse and waste reduction. According to the organisers, the festival aims to highlight projects developed across the territory through ACTE – Avec les Citoyen·ne·s pour la Transition Écologique.
The main programme will take place on Saturday 19 September on both sides of the Luxembourg-French border. Activities will begin from 09:00 at La MESA (1 Rue du Moulin) in Esch-sur-Alzette, where visitors will be able to discover the Microbrasserie and Plantes & Bien-être citizen groups.
From 14:00, L'Arche in Villerupt will host stands, workshops and activities focusing on food processing, reuse, sharing, sewing and FabLab initiatives. The programme will continue with a walk through the former Micheville quarries and concerts organised as part of L'Arche's season launch.
A cross-border “Vélorution” cycling event will also connect Esch-sur-Alzette and Villerupt on the same day.
Other scheduled events include:
- Sunday 13 September: fermentation and vegetable preservation workshop in Sanem, marking the opening of the festival;
- Wednesday 16 September: inauguration of a new space dedicated to the circular economy at the MJC in Audun-le-Tiche;
- Tuesday 22 September: celebration at the municipal garden in Audun-le-Tiche.
The Ecofestival will also include awareness-raising activities for children and young people in school and extracurricular settings, particularly around food waste and waste reduction.
