From Wednesday 16 to Tuesday 22 September 2026, European Mobility Week will take place under the theme “Mobility for everyone”.
According to the City of Luxembourg (Ville de Luxembourg - VdL), the programme in the capital will include a “Mobility for everyone” day, several free “Multimodal City Tours”, a bicycle repair and maintenance course and the city’s participation in the GoGo VELO campaign.
On Thursday 17 September 2026, from 10:00 to 17:00, Place Guillaume II will host an action day dedicated to the mobility of people with specific needs.
The VdL will present its public transport offer adapted to people with specific needs, including the standard buses of the Bus Department and “Call-a-bus” minibuses equipped with a lifting platform. Visitors will also be able to experience some of the obstacles encountered by wheelchair users during their daily journeys. Information stands and participatory workshops will complete the programme.
On Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 September 2026, the VdL and the Luxembourg City Tourist Office (LCTO) will offer free “Multimodal City Tours”, allowing participants to explore the capital on foot and by using different forms of public transport, including the panoramic lift, funicular and tram.
The tours will include several emblematic squares, buildings and monuments in the capital. The Luxembourgish-language tour will take place on Saturday at 14:00, while the French-language tour will be held on Sunday at 14:00. Participation is free, but prior registration is required.
Bicycle repair and maintenance course
On Tuesday 22 September, the VdL, in collaboration with ProVelo and the Lycée Technique du Centre, will offer a free bicycle repair and maintenance course from 17:30 to 20:30.
The practical course is intended for both beginner cyclists and more experienced users and will cover the basic knowledge needed to maintain a bicycle and carry out minor common repairs. It will be held in Luxembourgish, German and French. Registration is compulsory and places are limited.
