François Bausch, Minister of Sustainable Development and Infrastructure, today swore in sixteen CFL supervisors, seven CTB control officers and five AVL control officers under Section 4 of the Act on the order and safety of public transport(Amended) of 19 June 2009.
Sworn-in agents are entitled to request the display of transport documents, authorised to collect surcharges, to verify the identity of the persons checked and to be shown an identity document for that purpose, provided that the performance of their mission so requires. He or she shall also be empowered to order persons who by their conduct disturb the order or safety of public transport, bus and railway stations and stops to leave the vehicle or places.
Officers must have received special training for their accreditation.
528 screening officers have been sworn in since 2006.
